Olympic and Paralympic Games Legacy lives on for One lucky Activ8 School!

When Northern Ireland’s Lagan Construction was awarded the £18 million Central Park Bridge close to the Olympic Stadium, they were also made responsible for removal of the colourful rubber matting deck to ensure its use in legacy mode.

Situated on the central pedestrian concourse, the bridge spans the River Lea, and formed a key connection between the Basketball Arena, the Aquatics Centre and the Olympic Stadium. The Central Park Bridge was described as the most important in the Olympic Park due to its key location and bespoke design which resulted from a design competition.

As part of the Olympic Legacy, Lagan Construction is now looking to donate to and install the colourful rubber matting for one lucky Activ8 registered school.

To be in the draw for your school’s chance to win a piece of the Olympic/Paralympic stadium (up to 100 square meters of rubber matting installed by Lagan Construction at your school) simply ensure that your school is registered at and submit by e-mail (in no more than 300 words) details on how the Olympic/Paralympic legacy lives on at your school. The closing date for school entries into the draw is Tuesday 1st October.
