Renowned Artist Deepa Mann-Kler Celebrates Cycling Through Art

Deepa Mann-Kler graphicArtist Deepa Mann-Kler, a judge for Activ8's recent Giro Design a Jersey Competition for primary school pupils, has her own commitment to the Art of Cycling—fittingly the title of her current exhibition at the Titanic Belfast, running until 15 May 2014.

A "Meet the Artist" reception, also at Titanic Belfast, will be held on Friday, 2 May, and exactly one week before the Giro d'Italia Big Start kicks off in Belfast on 9 May.

A devoted cycling enthusiast, Deepa beautifully captures the movement, speed, and joy of professional cycling.

"My new exhibition celebrates all that is good about cycling here, and the Giro D'Italia," says Deepa. "I love cycling and I first exhibited with the Tour of Ireland in 2009 when Mark Cavendish raced. Then, in 2011, I was commissioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale, Switzerland to paint a gift for their main sponsor, Tissot. Some of my cycling subjects to date include [cyclists] Sean Kelly, Stephen Roche, Mark Cavendish, Bradley Wiggins, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Flèche Wallone, to name a few."

In addition to her exhibit at Titanic Belfast, Deepa has been invited by Stormont to exhibit her cycle prints at the Parliament Buildings from 5–23 May 2014.

The Art of Cycling exhibition features new paintings and prints, all of which are for sale and start at only £20. Prints may be pre-ordered by visiting www.cycleprints.co.uk. For more information on Deepa Mann-Kler's work, follow her on Twitter (@deepamann_kler)
