Follow the Leader: the remaining weeks of the Giro d’Italia

giro finishing line-webEven though the Giro d'Italia Big Start in Northern Ireland has come and gone, it doesn't mean the great Giro race is over yet. With numerous resources—both broadcast and online—teachers, pupils, and families can keep track of which cyclists are leading and who's sneaking ahead, day by day, until the race ends on 1st June 2014.

Giro statistics and daily results may be followed on Sky Sport, which has been airing the Giro d'Italia live since the Big Start's kick-off on 9 May 2014. If your source is the internet, the top cycling website, CyclingNews.com is posting daily stage race results; as well as the Giro-sponsoring Italian sport newspaper La Gazetta dello Sport's website—with English translation.

And for teachers, tracking the stages of the remainder of the Giro is a wonderful way to continue students' engagement in this prestigious international race. The race ends in Trieste, Italy, but the days leading up to that will no doubt spur thrills and suspense as we wait to see who wears the Maglia Rosa (the final pink Giro jersey) and wins the Giro trophy.
