Exciting News!

After week one of the Go Outdoors Challenge we have lots of activity taking place across Northern Ireland. We will be posting up a leader board of all the participants on the challenge soon, to let you know how you are getting on in the challenge. This year we have a great prize on offer so we would encourage you to keep as active as possible and recruit as many new participants as possible to help you with the challenge. Keep up the good work!

The winner of the Go Outdoors challenge will receive tutoring for a group within the school to achieve the Outdoor Playmakers Award.

The award is a great introduction into outdoor learning and leadership for children aged ten and over. The award aims to help children develop confidence, self-esteem and leadership skills in the outdoors. They will develop personal and group responsibility in a local but yet dynamic natural environment and will improve organisation, communication, teamwork and co-operation.

The award has been designed for use in a variety of different outdoor settings, including school grounds, woodlands and local parks. This can be delivered as part of normal school outdoor learning programmes or as dedicated leadership sessions within an outdoor activities residential. The Award involves approximately six tutored hours for students.

To be in with a chance to winning one day of this programme delivered by Tollymore National Outdoor Centre's qualified and experienced instructors, on your school grounds or most convenient woodland or local park area please enter the competition.
