Get Set For Community Action

championGet Set for Community Action is a new programme which aims to strengthen relationships between schools and their local community.

Funded through Big Lottery, the programme is being managed by Edcoms with the Youth Sport Trust supporting the schools recruitment and delivery.

The programme builds upon the previous Get Set to Make a Change, again asking schools to recruit 10 young people who will deliver projects but the key difference this time around, is that we are looking for schools to engage with a new community partner to deliver their projects and that there should be a real connection with the Rio Olympics and Paralympics. The programme will be driven through 100 Champion Schools across the UK.

The first round of applications will be for the Champion School role. We are looking for three schools in Northern Ireland who will work with us to lead and drive the work locally in their area. Champion Schools will be supported by the Youth Sport Trust to identify and engage with 3-5 other secondary schools who will also deliver the programme in their community.

The applications for the Champion School role opened on Thursday 17th September and close on Friday 16th October. Visit www.getsetaction.org.uk for more information and to apply.
